Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies SupaPicks uses on supapicks.com, why we use them and how you can control them. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners.
Cookies are stored by your web browser and sent back to the originating website on subsequent visits, or to other websites that recognise the same cookie. They cannot access other files on your device and cannot execute programs.
In addition to traditional cookies, we may use similar tracking technologies such as local storage (which stores data directly in your browser rather than as a cookie file) and session storage (temporary browser-session data cleared when you close the tab). These are covered by the same rules as cookies under this policy.
Cookies We Use — Overview
We use four categories of cookies. Here is a summary:
When you first visit the site, our cookie banner allows you to accept all cookies or manage your preferences individually. You can change your preferences at any time — see Section 8.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They do not require your consent under applicable law. They are typically set only in response to actions you take, such as logging in or adjusting your settings.
| Cookie name | Category | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| sp_session | Necessary | Maintains your authenticated session while logged in. Cleared on browser close. | Session |
| sp_csrf | Necessary | Cross-site request forgery protection token. Prevents malicious form submissions. | Session |
| sp_cookie_consent | Necessary | Records your cookie consent preferences so we don't show the banner on every page. | 12 months |
| sp_theme | Preference | Stores your light/dark mode preference. Loaded before page render to prevent flash. | 12 months |
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are most visited, how long visitors stay, and where they arrive from. This information is used in aggregate to improve the site and our content. No personally identifiable information is passed to any analytics provider.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. Used to throttle request rate and calculate visit statistics. | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Registers a unique ID used to generate statistical data on how the visitor uses the site. | 24 hours |
| _gat | Google Analytics | Used to throttle request rate — limits the volume of data recorded by Google Analytics on high-traffic sites. | 1 minute |
| _ga_[ID] | Google Analytics 4 | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4. The [ID] suffix is unique to each GA4 property. | 2 years |
We use IP anonymisation in Google Analytics — the last octet of your IP address is masked before any data is recorded. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Preference Cookies
Preference cookies allow the site to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalised features. Without them, your settings will be reset each time you visit.
| Cookie / Storage key | Category | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| sp_theme | Preference | Light/dark mode preference. See note in Section 3. | 12 months |
| sp_sort | Preference | Remembers your last selected sort order on tip pages (kick-off time, confidence, odds). | 30 days |
| sp_filter_[page] | Preference | Stores your active filter selection on market pages (e.g. last active DC sub-filter tab). | Session |
| sp_league_collapsed | Preference | Remembers which league groups you have collapsed on prediction pages. | Session |
Advertising Cookies
Where display advertising is active on the site, third-party advertising networks may set cookies to measure ad effectiveness and to serve advertisements that are relevant to your interests based on your browsing history across websites.
We do not control the cookies set by these third-party networks — they operate under their own privacy policies and consent frameworks. We participate in the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) where applicable, which governs the consent signals passed to advertising partners.
Advertising cookies set by third parties may include identifiers from:
- Google AdSense / Google Ad Manager
- Prebid.js demand partners (where Prebid is in use)
- Other programmatic advertising partners
You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through:
- Your Online Choices (EU/UK)
- NAI opt-out tool (US)
- Google Ad Settings
Opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads — it means the ads you see will not be personalised based on your browsing history.
Third-Party Cookies
In addition to the cookies we set directly, some third-party services embedded in or linked from the Site may set their own cookies. The principal third-party cookie sources on supapicks.com are:
- Google (Analytics and Ads) — see Sections 4 and 6. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Telegram — if you click through to our Telegram channel (@Official100tip), Telegram's own privacy practices apply. We do not control or have access to any cookies Telegram may set.
- Embedded fonts (Google Fonts) — Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN. Google may set a short-lived cookie as part of font delivery. No personally identifiable information is passed.
- Affiliate and bookmaker links — clicking through to bookmaker partner sites will expose you to those sites' own cookie policies. We have no control over cookies set on third-party sites.
We review our third-party cookie inventory periodically and update this policy when new third-party cookies are introduced.
Your Choices
You have several ways to control cookies on supapicks.com:
-
Cookie banner — when you first visit the site, our
cookie consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential
cookies, or manage your preferences by category. Your choice is stored
in the
sp_cookie_consentcookie for 12 months. - Update your preferences — you can revisit your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer. This reopens the consent management panel.
- Browser settings — see Section 9 for instructions on managing cookies through your browser.
- Opt-out tools — use the industry opt-out links in Section 6 to opt out of interest-based advertising across all participating networks.
If you reject analytics or preference cookies, some site features (such as remembered sort order, filter state and dark mode persistence) will not work between sessions. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality.
Browser Controls
Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically choose to:
- View which cookies are stored and delete individual cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies entirely (note: this will break many websites)
- Delete all cookies when you close the browser
Instructions for the major browsers:
For mobile devices, refer to your device manufacturer's support documentation for browser cookie controls.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or improvements to our cookie management systems. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Where we introduce new non-essential cookies, we will request fresh consent through the cookie banner before setting them. If you have previously accepted all cookies, continued use of the site after we publish an updated policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms in relation to strictly necessary and previously consented categories.
