Our rankings draw on complete match data through matchweek 30 of the 2025/26 season. We weight three primary factors: average goals per match (40%), the percentage of games finishing with 3 or more total goals (40%), and closing line value on the over 2.5 market week-to-week (20%).
Competitions needed a minimum of 200 completed matches to qualify. We excluded cup games and focused purely on domestic fixtures to ensure consistency.
Key insight: The average goals-per-game across all top European competitions rose to 2.81 in 2025/26 — the highest in a decade. High defensive lines and pressing systems are creating more transitions and open play.
